What is Star Summit?
The sixth annual Shaping Teachers Across the Region Summit is coming to Southwest Missouri this Fall. On November 6, 2018, teachers and staff from Nixa, Ozark, Republic, and Willard School Districts will collaborate for an educational conference. The day will start with participants splitting into two groups, traveling either to Republic High School or Willard High School to attend breakout and deep dive sessions. After a break for lunch, all the districts will attend a keynote by Heidi Hayes Jacobs, at James River Church at 6100 N 19th Street in Ozark.

We are encouraging teachers to share a ride to Star Summit. So, send a tweet using #carpoolstarsummit -- Include a photo of at least three people in your car as you head to Star Summit. You could win a BIG prize if your carpool photo is selected!
Call for presenters
We are securing presenters at all grade levels and all content areas for STAR Summit. The Call for Presenters will be available September 5th - Sept 26th. Complete this Call for Presenters Form to submit your presentation.
The maximum number of sessions that you can present is two 50-minute breakout sessions, or one deep-dive session (1 hr 40 min). Payment is $50 per 50-minute breakout session or $100 per deep-dive session (co-presenters share the session pay). If you choose two sessions, you can do the same presentation twice, or do two different presentations.
Suggested Themes include: Developing your PLN, Trauma Informed, Socio-Emotional Learning, Multi-tiered support - RTI, Suicide Awareness, 21st Century Skills, Leader in Me, Literacy, Disciplinary Literacy, Numeracy, Inquiry, Deep Level Questioning , Blended Learning, Student Voice and Choice, Effective Collaboration (PLC), Creating Opportunities for Transfer, and Equity.
